This enormous kettle or caldron measures 24 inches in diameter, 13 inches high, and a full 75 inches in circumference. It has been cleaned and is in great condition. I can not find a signature however with the work that went into this container, you would have thought it would be there. The large round rivets that are used to decorate the edge, remind me very much of the turn of the century Stickley pieces. It fits in beautifully with that decor. The brass Lion's Claw feet and handles are intricate and heavy and everything is there. The handles certainly make it easier to move. It has a hole drilled in about the size of a pencil diameter and you can see it in the photo. The pot was used as a planter on an estate here in town and that allowed drainage for the flowers. If you use it outdoors, the patina such come back quickly. We had it cleaned to use it as a book and magezine bin in front of our sofa in the library. It is very useful.
